WCB Physical Therapy Edmonton

Your Life Wants You Back…

Get out of pain and back to the lifestyle you love. MVMT Physio & Chiro is an accredited physical therapy provider with the Alberta Workers Compensation Board (WCB).  Serving the St. Albert and Edmonton communities, we provide rehabilitation services to workers who are injured on the job.

We will help you reach your optimal health potential and live a pain free life.  Along with educating you, your pain expert team (a physiotherapist and a kinesiologist) will provide an active rehabilitation program that provides physical and functional conditioning, allowing you to get rid of your pain fast and help you return to work as soon as it is safely possible.  The program may include a job site visit and a graduated return to work plan that is tailored to you.

Whether you are a health care worker with a bad back or a factory worker with a shoulder or neck problem, our St Albert physiotherapists can help you out of pain and get back to everyday life.

If you have injured yourself at work, follow these four steps for the FREE WCB PHYSIOTHERAPY claim process:

1) Report Your Injury to Your Employer

After receiving notice, your employer must report your injury to WCB Alberta within 72 hours if:

  • you need medical treatment beyond first aid
  • you are unable to perform your job beyond the day of accident

2) Report Your Injury to WCB

Contact WCB and promptly send your injury forms to them. The forms can be obtained from your employer or WCB’s website. Alternatively, the injury forms can also be submitted directly online.

3) Report Your Injury to Your Doctor

Visit your doctor after your injury. Your doctor must report your injury to WCB-Alberta within 48 hours.

4) Book Your First Appointment With our WCB Physical Therapy Team

Your initial physiotherapy visit is covered by WCB.  Book an appointment with MVMT Physio & Chiro within a week from receiving the doctors referral for physiotherapy.

If your claim is approved,  you are eligible for six (6) consecutive weeks or twenty one (21) visits at a maximum of three (3) visits per week. If you miss any appointments, those visits cannot be added to the end of your 6 week time period. It is either 6 weeks or 21 visits; you may not go over either one. You may only attend once per day.

To summarize: If you have injured yourself at work, it is your responsibility to notify your employer, our reception staff, and your attending physiotherapist. In addition, you must contact WCB so that a claim number can be assigned to you and forwarded to MVMT Physio & Chiro. Failure to follow the reporting guidelines may result in a delay in treatment authorization from a WCB adjudicator and a WCB denial of your claim. If you need any help with completing your report,  give us a call at  (780) 459-5015 ,  we‘re here to help you on your road to recovery.
