Tricia Shumate
Tricia graduated from Bond University in Australia with a Doctor of Physiotherapy in March 2020. Prior to – she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Alberta in 2018 with a specialization in Sports Performance. Tricia’s passion for being active and continuing a healthy lifestyle has been very important to her throughout her entire life. Tricia decided to become a physiotherapist due to her numerous injuries growing up throughout her dance career, as well as playing basketball, volleyball and running track. During Tricia’s university career, she was a trainer for numerous hockey teams, and a member of the Edmonton Eskimos Cheer Team. In her spare time, you’ll find Tricia working out at F45 or in the mountains hiking or snowboarding.
Due to Tricia’s extensive history in the sporting and dancing community she has developed a passion for treating sporting injuries as well as developed an interest in concussion management and treatment. Tricia’s approach to treatment emphasizes patient education, manual therapy, and most importantly an active patient approach with therapeutic exercises throughout her patients’ treatment plans.
